The manufacturer of cast basalt pipe valve explains that the accessories of cast basalt valve such as gate valve, ball valve and butterfly valve are often easier to be damaged than the valve itself, such as flange gasket, so how to replace the damaged flange gasket of cast basalt valve? The replacement of flange gasket needs to follow the following four basic principles, prepare materials and tools, pay attention to the operation steps, and meet two technical requirements and five key points.
(1) Operation steps
① Remove the flange connecting bolts, remove the valve or remove the pipe section at the leakage end. Remove the waste gasket on the sealing surface.
② Select a suitable gasket and apply - layer of butter evenly on both sides.
③ Place the sealing gasket on the sealing surface between the two flanges, align the center of the two flanges and the center of the bolt hole, install the bolts, screw the nuts, and tighten the nuts diagonally for many times. The length of the bolt extending out of the nut should be 2-3 pitches. After the installation of flange gasket, it shall pass the working pressure test without leakage.
(2) Technical requirements
① Care should be taken to prevent damage to the flange.
② After completion, the tools shall be cleaned and maintained.
(3) Five key points for gasket installation
① Correct selection: the form, material and size of flange, bolt and gasket shall be properly selected according to the operating conditions and the structural form of flange surface.
② Check carefully: the quality of flanges, bolts, nuts and gaskets shall be carefully checked before installation, and there shall be no burr, unevenness, crack and other defects. Carefully check the installation of flanges and pipes, and there shall be no deviation, wrong mouth, wrong hole, etc.
③ Clean: the flange sealing surface must be cleaned, and the bolts and gaskets shall be free of impurities, oil stains, etc.
④ Proper installation: the gasket shall be concentric with the pipe or pipe fitting.
⑤ Even up: install bolts and nuts with uniform force and tighten symmetrically for many times.
