Cast basalt slab is a non-metallic corrosion-resistant material made of natural rocks such as diabase, basalt or industrial waste residue, with certain additives such as hornblende, dolomite, fluorite and other crystallizers such as chromite and ilmenite processed through melting, casting, crystallization and annealing. If we want to do a good job in the construction of cast basalt slab, we must first do a good job in the base course and surface treatment.
Surface treatment of base course before cast basalt slab construction: the concrete base course must be firm, dense and flat without sand, shell, crack, honeycomb and pitted surface and oil stain. The slope and strength of the base course shall meet the design requirements. When paving blocks on the concrete base, the internal and external corners of the base shall be made into right angles. The base course must be dry, and the moisture content shall not be greater than 6% when the depth is 20mm
The surface of the base course shall be free of floating ash, cement slag and loose parts. The flatness of the base course shall be checked with a 2m ruler, and the allowable error shall be ≤ 5mm. If the positive and negative difference of the flatness of the base course surface is too large, the original base course construction unit shall be required to conduct leveling treatment in advance, or Party A and Party B shall negotiate and determine it without affecting the acceptance and handover, and conduct on-site treatment according to the actual situation.
Base course surface treatment before cast basalt slab construction
The molding processes of cast basalt slab include solution casting, sintering and hot direct sintering. Cast basalt slab products have been widely used in building materials, chemical industry, metallurgy, mining and other industrial departments. In some parts of many equipment, cast basalt is an ideal substitute material for steel, iron, lead, rubber, wood and so on.
Although the cast basalt slab has high wear resistance and acid and alkali corrosion resistance that ordinary metals can not achieve, it also has the advantages of prolonging the service cycle of equipment, reducing maintenance man hours, improving production efficiency and reducing product cost. However, if the base surface treatment before the construction of cast basalt slab is not done well, the performance and advantages of cast basalt slab will be greatly reduced.
